Two things decide it: how many people are playing and how much time you have. Both are required — they're what rules most of a shelf in or out. From there Lazy Meeple picks a game that fits, and it only ever chooses from the games you've added, so every suggestion is something you can put on the table tonight.
Yes. On top of player count and time, you can narrow the pick by weight — how heavy or light the game is — and by whether it's cooperative or competitive. That's how you match the pick to the mood of the group: something light and co-op after a long day, or a heavy competitive game when everyone's up for it.
Yes. Picking a game, building or importing your collection, favourites, and Play Stats are all free, with no ads. Lazy Meeple Deluxe is an optional one-time purchase for extra color themes and app icons — entirely cosmetic, never required.

No. You can import your collection if you have a BoardGameGeek username, or skip that entirely and search the built-in catalog to add games one by one.
No. Lazy Meeple has no analytics, no tracking scripts, and no ad network. Your board game collection and preferences are stored only on your device, and we never receive a copy.
Your shelf and your preferences are stored locally on your device only. Our servers help look up board game information and, if you use it, retrieve your public BoardGameGeek collection — but we never keep a copy of your data. The privacy policy spells this out in full.
Picking a game works fully offline once your shelf is built. An internet connection is only needed to add games — importing your BoardGameGeek collection or searching the catalog to add one by one.
No. Lazy Meeple only picks from the collection you've already added — it never recommends new games to buy. The whole point is to help you play what's already on your shelf.
Yes. Tap the star on any game, in your collection or on its own detail page, to mark it a favourite. Favourited games are one tap away, and you can optionally narrow Pick a Game to choose from favourites only.
